Michigan Man Dies In Florida Keys
MARATHON (CBS4) – A vacation turned tragic last week when a Michigan man died during a dive off of the Florida Keys.
The autopsy results that will tell what happened are pending for Richard Snow, 56, who died shortly after completing a dive offshore of the Florida Keys, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's report shows that Snow was on a dive trip on board the Reef Hopper on Thursday morning.
He and others on the boat were diving about 60 feet of water at a location known as "Edge of Darkness."
At some point, Snow began having trouble. The captain of the boat threw out a safety line.
Although Snow was unable to grab the line, it caught on his tank and the captain was able to tow him to the boat.
Snow was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
