'We Need An Executive To Run The Country': Mike Bloomberg Stumps In Florida On Super Tuesday
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – It is a big day for the Democratic presidential candidates, when 14 states vote on Super Tuesday.
While Florida is not a Super Tuesday state, Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg is spending Super Tuesday stumping across Miami and other parts of the Sunshine state.
Bloomberg started the day having coffee with former City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz. Both Diaz and former gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink have already endorsed Bloomberg.
He also stopped at a field office in Little Havana, which is not always fertile ground for Democratic presidential candidates.
But that didn't slow down the billionaire Bloomberg, who is on the March 17 Florida Presidential Primary ballot.
What are his plans if he does poorly on Super Tuesday?
"Joe is taking votes away from me," said Bloomberg. "I think that is true but have you asked Joe if he is going to drop out? When you ask him, then you can call me," he said.
Bloomberg has 14 Florida field offices with a staff of 150 spread across the state.
Speaking in Little Havana he said, "We will not win Florida with a candidate who has praised Fidel Castro."

This is a big day for Bloomberg. It's his first test on multiple ballots for Super Tuesday.
Then there is a Florida, which is always a critical state in a presidential election with its 219 delegates.
Bloomberg has put up 90 billboards across the state. Florida voters also can't escape his television and social media ads which are part of a nationwide effort that already has cost more than $500 million.
"No one is thinking about dropping out. We are in it to win it," he said.
So why does he think he is a better pick than Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden?
"Both are very honorable Americans and great people," he said. "But they are legislators and we need an executive to run the country."
Tuesday afternoon, Bloomberg will speak in Orlando at another one of his field offices and campaign in West Palm Beach Tuesday evening.
