Miami's Loss Drops Canes In Top 25
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The University of Miami men's basketball team knew it was going to pay for the huge upset loss to Wake Forest over the weekend and the team found out just how far down the polls they dropped.
The AP Top 25 dropped Miami from second to fifth in the country behind Indiana, Gonzaga, Duke, and Michigan. Miami's loss against Wake Forest dropped its season record to 22-4. The Canes are also behind a Duke team that Miami mauled at the end of last month in Coral Gables.
The Coaches Poll dropped Miami even further than the media did. In the Coaches Poll, Miami fell from second to seventh in the country behind Indiana, Gonzaga, Duke, Michigan, Kansas, and Florida.
Miami and Duke are the only two teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference that are ranked in either the Coaches Poll or the AP Top 25. The Florida Gators are the only team from the Southeastern Conference ranked in the Top 25 in either poll as well.
