Miami To D.C. Flight Diverted Due To Turbulence
CHARLESTON, S.C. (CBS4) - It was a bumpy ride for passengers on-board an American Airlines flight from Miami to Washington, D.C., Tuesday afternoon.
The flight was forced to land in Charleston after encountering what an airport official called severe turbulence.
Becky Beaman of the Charleston County Aviation Authority said the plane landed in Charleston shortly before 4:30 p.m. She said she didn't know the flight number.
Beaman said emergency medical services were there to meet the plane but did not know if anyone was injured.
A message left with the airline was not immediately returned Tuesday afternoon.
