Miami SWAT Called In To Catch Suspected Boat Burglar
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - It's not every day a highly trained and effective police SWAT team is called in to apprehend a burglar.
But that's just what happened Monday when Miami police received a call about a burglar on a yacht at 300 Biscayne Boulevard. When police arrived they learned the trespasser was still on the boat, hiding somewhere and refusing to come.
That's when the SWAT team was called in.
After about an hour, they were able to take him into custody.
None of the police officers were injured, but one person was seen being rolled to an ambulance on a gurney.
People who live in the highrises in the area said because of the police presence, traffic was brought to crawl during the morning rush hour.
