MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Thousands of South Florida runners will leave their cubicles and lace up their sneakers for the 2014 Miami Mercedes-Benz Corporate 5K Run on Thursday, April 24th.

With more than 25,600 participants from 850 companies expected, race organizers are anticipating the run's largest record-breaking crowd yet.  As the final race in the series, the run, known as "Florida's Largest Office Party", is open to employees of businesses, corporations, government agencies, financial institutions and non-profits – regardless of company size – and incorporates a special competition to award the overall men's, women's and co-ed teams in 20 different industries.

The Miami race, however, is now sold-out and they will not be taking any registrations on the day of the event.

The purpose of the Tri-County Corporate Run Series is to promote running and walking as a means to a fit, healthy lifestyle for people from all walks of corporate life. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the Miami run will benefit United Way.
