Miami Police Search For 2 Robbery Suspects
MIAMI (CBS4) – MIAMI (CBS4) – One man is in custody after allegedly firing shots inside a home during a robbery.
Miami Police arrested Victor Medina, 30, who was identified by two of his four victims Sunday night. Medina is charged with Armed Occupied Burglary with an Assault Therein, Armed Robbery and Possession of a firearm in the commission of a Felony, according to Miami Police spokesman William Moreno.
Two others are being sought by police in connection to the Sunday robbery-home invasion.
At about 11 a.m. police responded to a call in the 1100 block of SW 19th Avenue where shots had been reported.
According to the victim the ordeal began when someone knocked at his door and asked about a rental sign, but left after his questions were answered, then at about 10:50 a.m. the first man returned with two others.
Once the victim opened the door one of the men pulled out a gun and demanded jewelry and cash.
All three men then forced their way into the home and robbed the three other people inside, Moreno said.
One of the robbers shot at a victim after he failed to tie him up, but missed. Two of the suspects then ran from the scene, the first one took a hostage and left the house. Police say once the two reached the sidewalk, he ordered his hostage back inside and escaped southbound on SW 19th Avenue.
One of the suspects, Victor Medina, 30, was identified by three of the robbery victims and arrested by police and his firearm confiscated.
He faces charges of Armed Occupied Burglary with an Assault Therein, Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
Police are still searching for the two other suspects described only as white Hispanic males, one in his mid-20s and 160-170 pounds wearing a gray T-shirt. The other was last seen wearing black pants and a T-shirt
