Miami Police Investigate Fatal Shooting Of Woman In NE Miami
MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A woman is dead after being shot at a Downtown Miami high rise early Thursday.
Miami Police were called to the Caoba Apartments at 698 Northeast 1st Avenue shortly after 1:20 a.m. Detectives said the woman in her 30s was shot in the neck on the 7th floor of the building. She died at the hospital.
"We don't know if she was living here, but we do know detectives are looking at the motive," said Officer Kenia Fallat with the Miami Police Department. "We're not ruling out domestic. We're not ruling anything out right now."
On Thursday morning, Miami Police said they were speaking with a possible witness and had another person detained. Detectives are still looking into any possible relationship between the victim and the person detained.
Miami Police have not released the name of the woman who died.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
No other details were immediately available.
