Miami: More Trick Than Treat On Halloween Night
MIAMI(CBSMiami) – Every year, kids wait until nightfall on Halloween to begin a candy filled adventure which will eventually lead them into a sugar coma.
So who has the best trick or treating neighborhoods in the country?
The real estate website Zillow took a look and came up with a list to make it easier for parents to find the best trick-or-treating spots for their little monsters.
According to Zillow's Third Annual Trick-or-Treat Index, Miami came in 15th on the top 20 list; it was the only Florida city to make the list.
San Francisco took the top spot followed by Boston, Honolulu, Seattle and Chicago. It was a bit win for San Francisco who came in second last year. In 2010, Seattle was the top city followed Frisco, Portland (OR), San Jose and Denver.
According to Zillow's index, Coconut Grove was ranked as the best neighborhood for trick-or-treating in Miami. Other top neighborhoods included Little Havana, West Flagler, Biscayne Island and San Marco Island.
The results were calculated using four equally weighted pieces of data; median home values, "walkability" of the city, population density and local crime rates. The top cities had the highest home values, "walkability" score, people per square mile and the lowest crime rates.
The index was designed to help kids and parents use the data to identify best cities for their Halloween experience while giving them the best opportunity to get a larger amount of candy.
