Miami Man Wins Mega Money Jackpot Worth $1.8 Million
TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – A Miami man is the lucky winner of the Mega Money jackpot.
The Florida Lottery announced that Luis Henry Torres, 55, of Miami, claimed the November 29, 2013, MEGA MONEY™ jackpot of $1.8 million at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
Torres chose the one-time, lump-sum payment option for his winnings, in the amount of $1,363,495.50.
The winning ticket was purchased at Publix, located at 13890 Southwest 56th Street in Miami. The retailer received a bonus commission of $1,000 for selling the jackpot-winning MEGA MONEY ticket.
This ticket marks the 79th jackpot-winning ticket sold in Dade County since MEGA MONEY became a permanent Florida Lottery Terminal game in 2004. Total ticket sales from this drawing generated more than $2 million to the Education Enhancement Trust Fund.
The next MEGA MONEY drawing will be Friday, December 6, at 11:15 p.m. ET, with a $550,000 jackpot
