Miami Man Wins Grand A Week, For Life
MIAMI (CBSMiami) Most of us want to live a good long life. Miami's Cesar Altamirano, in the prime of life at 34, has an extra reason. The state of Florida plans to pay him $1 thousand a week, every week, for the rest of his life. The longer he lives, the bigger the prize.
Altamirano won the payoff for a $2 investment in a Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket in the game called, logically, "Lucky $1000 A Week For Life".
His lucky trip to a new live coincided with a a trip to the liquor store. He bought the ticket at Coral Park Liquors on SW8th Street.
With luck, he bought something with which to celebrate.
Even though the game offered a weekly payoff, Altamirano took an option that lets him take 4 quarterly payoffs a year for at least 20 years. Those payoffs continue until he meets his maker, most likely with money in his pockets.
