Miami Man Disfigured During Vicious Beating and Robbery
MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami Police are looking for three armed robbers who pistol-whipped and beat a man so badly, he may be permanently disfigured.
According to his mother, Francisco Lopez-Gomes is a hard-working electrician. A good son who runs errands for her.
While running one of those errands, Lopez-Gomes was robbed at gunpoint, and beaten so severely it left a gash in his forehead and his eyes swollen shut.
"He was bathed in blood, so much blood and he had a hole (in his forehead), and blood in his mouth and nose. I was very scared," the victim's mother, Carmen Gomes told CBS4's Natalia Zea.
Gomes says her son will never look the same, and now has memory loss.
"He has blood in his brain. His brain isn't ok," said Gomes. "He has five fractures in his face."
Gomes says he was walking down Northwest 12th Avenue near 5th Street in Little Havana on the evening of February 21. He on his way to the grocery store to pick up cooking oil for his mother.
Three men with a gun attacked him and caused his injuries and only took the $35 dollars in his wallet. Gomes prays for just one thing.
"That there be justice," said Gomes. "That at the end of this, there is justice."
The robbers are described as Latin men between 18 and 20 years old, and 5'8 or 5'9 feet tall.
