Miami LB Gabe Terry Bonds Out After Drug Charge Arrest
CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) — Miami linebacker Gabe Terry bonded out of jail Saturday, just one day after he was suspended indefinitely by the Hurricanes for his arrest on drug charges.
Terry was arrested by Coral Gables police and charged Friday with possessing slightly less than one ounce of marijuana.
Terry was held on $5,000 bond on the possession charge, as well as on $1,000 bond for a charge of resisting arrest without violence.
In Florida, possessing more than 20 grams of marijuana can be classified as a felony.
Terry was allegedly found with 26.8 grams.
After he was suspended by the team, his name was removed from the Hurricanes' roster.
Terry appeared in seven games for the Hurricanes last year, both as a linebacker and a special-teams player. He made five tackles and blocked a punt.
