Miami Gardens K-9 Officer Dies In The Line Of Duty
MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – The Miami Gardens Police Department is mourning the loss of a K-9 officer.
Miami Gardens Police Canine Max died after being injured during a call to a burglary at 740 NW 176th Terrace.
Officials said Canine Max was sent into the home through a window, but a glass panel fell on him and severely cut his ear.
Canine Max was taken to Hollywood Animal Hospital for surgery, but during the procedure, veterinarians said his cardiovascular system failed and they were unable to save him.
Canine Max was assigned to Officer Bezio in 2009.
A memorial for Canine Max will be held Wednesday, September 25 at the Tropical Park Officers Memorial in Miami.
