DAVIE (CBSMiami) -- The Miami Dolphins coaching hierarchy continued its midseason shuffle on Monday, with the team announcing they're promoting Darren Rizzi to assistant head coach in addition to his duties as special teams coordinator.
The seven-year NFL assistant joined the Dolphins' staff in 2009 after coaching Rhode Island the year before.
The Dolphins made several huge changes to the staff last week led by the firing of head coach Joe Philbin. They replaced him with tight ends coach Dan Campbell and then fired defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle, who was replaced with defensive backs coach Lou Anarumo. The team also added longtime NFL offensive mind Al Saunders as a consultant to help right what's been a struggling offense.
The Dolphins look to rise out of their 1-3 funk this Sunday when they take on the Tennessee Titans.
