MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Authorities are investigating a hefty heist from a South Florida fast food restaurant and it was all caught on camera.
Police believe it might have been an inside job or at least the two did a good job of casing the place since they knew exactly what they were going after and they brought the tools needed to get it.
Miami Fire officials said the burglars broke into a Miami Burger King located at 1309 NW 20th Street through a drive-thru window sometime overnight.
Cameras rolled as the two dark-clothed clad bandits crawled through the window and made their way straight to a safe. Video showed them working on the safe that was bolted to the floor under the cash register.
The pair worked on the safe for about 20 minutes before eventually getting away with it through a back window. The bandits got away with at least $13,000 that was inside the safe, according to investigators.
"The way they broke that window, they knew what they were doing. This wasn't their first time at the rodeo if you will," said Lt. Freddie Cruz with the Miami Police Dept. "So, we've got to stop these guys."
While the duo was careful to keep their hoods on, they didn't obscure everything.
"These two males, you can tell that one of them is a white male because he didn't have his arm covered. I don't see any tattoos but again the video is great," said Cruz. "Someone knows something. Someone knows who these guys are."
Miami Police said Monday's burglary mirrors one from a couple of weeks ago from Coral Way. Investigators are now wondering if the two are related.
Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the people in the video to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471- TIPS.
