Cops: Miami-Born Rapper "Gunplay" Swapping Rhymes For Crimes
MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Miami's second-biggest name in rap turned himself in to Miami-Dade Police late Wednesday morning.
Richard Morales, known as "Gunplay" on the rap scene, was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that took place a few months ago.
Video of the robbery, which took place at a tax preparation office in northwest Miami-Dade, shows Morales holding the gun.
A co-defendant, 36-year-old Randy Jones, was already arrested in the case.
Morales, a South Florida native, is no stranger to making headlines for the wrong reasons.
He spoke to TMZ about a scuffle at the BET Awards in Atlanta. While engaged in a fight with 50 Cent's entourage, Morales was pepper-sprayed by police.
Morales can expect to stay in jail: bond is not offered in armed robbery cases.
