The 14th annual Miami Beach International Fashion Week is bringing top designers from around the globe to the Miami Beach Convention Center for presentations March 21-24, 2012. The five-day event will wow attendees with runway shows, seminars, lounges, and other fun treats. Jewelry and apparel design exhibitions also run rampant through the halls of the convention center highlighting emerging designers and the winners of 2012's design competitions. It wouldn't be Miami without a party, so finally, the fashion week culminates with an awards show filled with live performances by special surprise guest acts.

There will be so many things to do, but some events are just not to be missed and really set Miami Beach International Fashion Week apart from the others. The first show not to miss is the Swimwear Designer Showcase. Models will strut down the runway presenting Miami's finest swimwear, beachwear, and resort looks. Expect plenty of high glam looks and day to night beach event appropriate ensembles.

Emerging Designers Prelude & Miami Style Showcase

Immediately following the Swimwear Designer Showcase is the Emerging Designers Prelude & Miami Style Showcase. This show will present the up-and-coming designers and popular local fashion designers. Anyone interested in finding out who Miami's next style stars will be are strongly urged to attend this show. Top Miami designers that once presented at or were lauded by MBIFW include Julian Chang, Silvia Tcherassi, and Laura Pimentel.
Banja Luka Fashion Fair Designer Showcase

Don't miss the annual Banja Luka Fashion Fair at MBIFW - the largest fashion event in Bosnia and Herzegovina presenting the works of designers from all over former Yugoslavia - Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, and Macedonia. For the 2012 MBIFW, the fashion fair will feature the cultural and ethnic-inspired designs of Montenegrin Marina Banovic, the designs of fashion and industrial designer Bosnian Davor Sladakovic, and the strong and feminine womenswear of Bosnian Ljiljana Majkic. Majkic will present her Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection. The show is sure to be filled with fresh ideas and exquisite fashion.

Be sure to catch all of the flavor with the Latin Fashion Weeks Council Designer Showcase. This segment of MBIFW highlights talent emerging from several Latin American countries. The Latin Fashion Weeks Council even represents the official fashion weeks for a number of those nations including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay. Miami couldn't be a better platform for these designers to showcase their talent and innovative ideas.

Finally, MBIFW will come to a close with a big bash, Miami-style, with the Miami Moda & Music Awards. The fashion industry-juried show will present awards including the Men's Style Award, the Tiffany Jewelry Design Award, the Humanitarian Award, and the International Rising Star Award (last year's winner, Banja Luka Fashion Fair's Bata Spasojevic was a big hit). The show will be accompanied by a special guest designer and live musical performances.
