MIA Terminal Reopened After Cops Check Out Suspicious Package
MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – A Miami-Dade police department bomb squad was called out to check out a suspicious package Thursday afternoon at Miami International Airport.
Airport spokesman Marc Henderson said the package was discovered at about 3:05 p.m. outside the gate of a Caribbean Air flight.
All passengers in the airport's J concourse were evacuated to a nearby area as a precaution.
Ten flight departures were delayed and two incoming flights were diverted to other gates while police checked out the item.
Police gave the all clear just after 5 p.m. and reopened the terminal.
