Men Arrested In Alleged Pinecrest Skimmer Operation

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Authorities arrested two men accused of placing a skimming device at a bank in Pinecrest.
Pinecrest Police said the two men, 23-year old Juan Jesus Martin and 38-year old Jose Jeinson Marrero installed the skimming device at Chase Bank's walk-up ATM on the evening of November 25th.
Chase security alerted police which in turn set up surveillance at the bank located at 10301 Pinecrest Parkway.
An hour later, police said, the men came back to remove the device. That's when officers cornered and arrested them.
Within the hour the device was attached to the ATM, 12 transactions occurred, compromising the customers' credit card information.
Chase officials said the two men are allegedly involved in multiple skimming operations that costs the bank more than $20,000 in losses.
Both men are charged with organized fraud and unlawful use of a scanning device.
