Song & Words Of Support For Dania Beach Hit & Run Victims

DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) –Through song, words of support and with candles in hand, dozens gathered on Wednesday evening to pray for the recovery of two brothers left for dead after a hit and run crash in Dania Beach earlier this week.
Family members say 14-year-old Kelvron Florence and his 8-year-old brother AJ Brown remain on breathing machines at Memorial Regional Hospital.
"It's gonna be a long, long road," said the boys' mother, Selena Brown, whose barely their hospital room since the accident. Brown said Kelvron got a feeding tube on Wednesday and is slowly beginning to heal but still has broken bones, facial fractures and bleeding on the brain. She said AJ's situation is much more grave.

That made the outpouring on Wednesday all the more uplifting for Brown and her husband, Apollo Brown, Sr.
"I just felt like I had all the love and support from everyone," said Selena Brown.
"I love it," said Apollo Brown. "These are my friends. This is my family."
Even classmates lit candles and lent their voices like Kelvron's pal, Evan Perella.
"I hope they get better and he can come back to school as soon as possible," Perella said.
The focus shifted from praying for the boys' survival to a plea for the driver who hit the boys as they walked home from a middle school basketball game to turn themselves in.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said the driver was behind the wheel of a metallic grey Toyota Tacoma truck.
Investigators said they recovered the Toyota emblem from the truck's grille as well as a bumper and the truck will have a broken headlight and fog light on the passenger side.
BSO wants anyone who knows the driver or where the truck is to call detectives.
So does Brown, who offered a direct word to the driver.
"Just please turn yourself in," she said. "You didn't have to do my boys like that. They just innocent kids trying to make it home before curfew time."
The Broward Sheriff's Office said they are still searching for the truck that hit these two brothers as well as the driver.
