Memorial Service To Be Held For Bill McBride Friday
TAMPA - A memorial service is scheduled for Friday in Tampa to remember the life of former gubernatorial candidate Bill McBride.
The service, scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, will be open to the public and McBride's family will receive friends in the courtyard of the church at the conclusion of the service.
McBride died of a heart attack Saturday at the age of 67. McBride was on a holiday trip in Mount Airy, N.C. when he passed away.
Mount Airy is the hometown of his wife, Alex Sink, who lost a gubernatorial election herself in 2010. McBride, who was a Tampa lawyer, lost a gubernatorial race against Jeb Bush in 2002.
