MDPD Investigating Shooting In SW Miami-Dade
SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – In a rural area of Southwest Miami-Dade, police are investigating a shooting that injured multiple people.
Miami-Dade Police were called to the scene near Krome Avenue and SW 168th Street around 7:45 p.m. Sunday night.
Police believe several people were at the location during the shooting and likely ran away when the shooting took place.
It's not clear how many people were injured or the extent of their injuries.
Officers are also looking into other illegal activity- including a possible cockfighting ring.
Alvaro Zabaleta, with MDPD, said, "It is a remote area, crime scene investigators have their job cut out for them in order ot be able to process everything that occurred, and photograph and difficulty in the light and the open area and access in and out. So it's a lot of work for them cut out just this early in the investigation."
Detectives are waiting for a judge to sign off on a search warrant to continue combing the property for evidence.
