MDPD Investigating Officer Involved Shooting
CORAL GABLES (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade Police are investigating a police-involved shooting near Coral Gables.
The call came in as a burglary in progress after 9:30 pm Monday, police said.
Investigators said an officer confronted at a man at a home along Southwest 10th Street near LeJeune Road and was forced to open fire.
The suspected burglar was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center with serious injuries.
The officer was not hurt.
No one else inside the home was hurt either, police said.
The name of the suspected burglar has not been released, but neighbors said they believed he lived in the area.
