Matt Moore Named AFC Player Of The Week
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – In the season of futility that the Miami Dolphins find themselves in, it's been hard to find many positives.
But last weekend's victory over of the Kansas City Chiefs yielded some good press for at least one Dolphins player.
Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the 31-3 trouncing of the Chiefs.
In the game, Moore threw for 224 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions. His passer rating of 147.5 was the third highest in the storied history of the Miami Dolphins.
Moore's three touchdown day was the first for the Fins since December 21, 2008.
Moore last won an NFL honor like this as a rookie in 2007 when he was named the NFL offensive rookie of the month for Decembers.
The last Dolphins player to win a player of the week award was running back Ricky Williams who won it for week 11 in 2009.
