Marvez: 'So Many Hurdles' to Placing NFL Team in Europe
It's clear the NFL will be looking to expand their product throughout Europe, but how likely is it that a team would be based in the United Kingdom?
"The reason they keep doing this is because they keep making more and more money in the U.K.," Fox Sports' Alex Marvez said of playing games in London on the Joe Rose Show. "The interest hasn't waned in the sport. They keep selling out Wembley stadium and the television ratings remain strong.
"And that's really the key, they want to use this as a launching pad for the rest of Europe to try to continue to grow global interest in the game and look for new revenue streams because there's only so much of the U.S. market that you can get to so I think this is the goal of the NFL but gosh there's so many hurdles that they have to be able to overcome before they can ever put a team over there."
