Marlins To Play Yankees At New Stadium
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Florida Marlins 2011 season has been a lost season since the team took an epic dive in June. The reality is the front-office has been focused on next year much more than this season, and now they have an opponent next April 1-2 in the new Marlins Stadium.
The Marlins scheduled two exhibition games on Sunday April 1st and Monday April 2nd against the New York Yankees. The Sunday game will be held at 1:10 p.m. while the Monday game is set for a first-pitch of 7:10 p.m.
There will be 25,000 tickets made available for the April 1st game, and 30,000 tickets will be available for the April 2nd game. Season ticket holders and partial-plan ticket holder will get first dibs on the tickets. The Marlins said a limited number of tickets will go on sale to the public next spring.
The new Marlins Stadium is over 75 percent complete and is scheduled to open on-time next season. The Marlins first regular-season opponent is reportedly going to be the St. Louis Cardinals.
