Marlins Shutout Brewers 4-0
MILWAUKEE (CBSMiami) - It didn't take long for newly acquired first baseman Carlos Lee to make an impact for the Miami Marlins.
Lee doubled and scored in his Marlins debut. Starting pitcher Mark Buehrle struck out eight over 7.2 innings as the Marlins beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-0 Thursday to split the four-game series.
Buehrle improved his record to 8-8 on the season as he allowed just six hits in the game. Milwaukee had produced 25 runs over the previous three games. Buehrle was only seriously challenged once in the fourth inning, but struck out Rickie Weeks to end the threat.
The Brewers didn't advance a runner to third base the rest of the game.
Lee now leads the Marlins in batting average at .290. He hit third in the lineup and was 2-4 in the game. Logan Morrison had two RBIs and Greg Dobbs hit a pinch-hit, two run homer in the top of the ninth to seal the victory.
