Marlins Send Coghaln & Dunn Down To AAA
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins have been awful over their last eight games and that sparked the team to make some roster moves to try and spark the team.
The Marlins sent outfielder Chris Coghlan and left handed reliever Mike Dunn were both sent down to AAA New Orleans Sunday after the Marlins lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks, 8-4.
Coghlan had been in the majors since opening day as a left-handed outfielder who could play all three positions. The former NL Rookie of the Year went 4-34 (.118) in 19 games.
Dunn gave up three runs in 0.2 innings pitched Sunday which sent his ERA to 9.53 in 5.2 innings pitched in eight appearances.
With roster spots open, the Marlins called up outfielder Bryan Petersen from New Orleans. Petersen has played in 22 games and has hit .316 with 8 RBI's on the young season.
The Marlins also called up pitcher Dan Jennings, a lefty. He's pitched 8.2 innings and has a 2.08 ERA in the time he's pitched.
