MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The Miami Marlins decided to grab a bat in the first round of the 2015 amateur draft – and they got a powerful one at that.
With the 12th overall pick, the Fish selected Josh Naylor out of St. Joan of Arc Catholic in Ontario, Canada.
The 6-foot, 225-pound lefty hitter lacks speed, but will have serious home run potential.
MLB.com echoes that idea by saying "it will be his bat that will be his calling card."
Experts say the 17 year old's defense is raw and will most likely be relegated to first base duties.
