Marlins, Phillies Reschedule Games For Irene
MIAMI (CBS4)- Major League Baseball's schedule is feeling the affect of Hurricane Irene. The league has started to rearrange its weekend schedule as Hurricane Irene approaches the East Coast, shifting a game between the Florida Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies.
The game between the Marlins and Phillies set for Sunday in Philadelphia has been moved up a day. The teams now will play it on Saturday afternoon at 1:05 p.m., creating a day-night doubleheader.
MLB announced the shift Thursday. New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi also says there is talk about his team playing a doubleheader Friday in Baltimore because of potential rainouts over the weekend.
The Boston Red Sox and New York Mets are also home this weekend and could be affected.
