Marlins Hosting Exhibition Games At New Ballpark
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Baseball fans clamoring to get the very first look at the soon-to-be-completed Miami Marlins ballpark will get their shot during three exhibition games on March 5-7.
On March 5, the ballpark will host Columbus High School and Belen Jesuit Preparatory School in the stadium's first ever baseball game.
Then on March 6, the Miami Marlins will play an exhibition game against the University of Miami. The Marlins will limit number of fans into the stadium to 10,000.
On March 7, the Marlins will play Florida International where a total of 15,000 tickets will be allowed.
Marlins Park is currently 93 percent complete, according to team officials. The team will host its first regular season game on April 4, 2012 against the St. Louis Cardinals at 7:10 p.m.
The Marlins will also take on the New York Yankees in two exhibition games on April 1st and 2nd. The April 1 game will be at 1:10 p.m.; and April 2 at 7:10 p.m.
