MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — The Miami Marlins are getting one of their young core players back in the lineup.
Marlins outfielder Christian Yelich has been activated from the 15-day disabled left after recovering from a bruised right knee.
Right-hander Kendry Flores was placed on the disabled list Tuesday, retroactive to Saturday, with right shoulder tendinitis.
Yelich was batting .275 with six homers and 29 RBIs when he went on the DL for the second time this year. Flores is 1-2 with a 4.97 ERA in seven games.
The Marlins will face the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second game of four-game set on Tuesday night.
