Marlins Acquire Southpaw Wade LeBlanc In Trade
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Miami Marlins haven't acquired any of the top free agents they are bidding on this off-season, but Tuesday night, the team did acquire a left-handed pitcher for the rotation.
The Marlins traded catcher John Baker to the San Diego Padres in exchange for left-hander Wade LeBlanc.
LeBlanc went 5-6 with a 4.63 ERA for the Padres last year, but did win three of his last four decisions. LeBlanc has played part of four seasons with the Padres and went 17-22 with a 4.54 ERA and started 52 games.
Baker only played in 16 games for the Fish last season after having Tommy John surgery in September 2010. For his career with the Marlins, baker hit .271 with 14 home runs and 89 RBI's.
