Mark Duper And Other Ex-Players Sue NFL Over Concussions
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – While the NFL and its current players continue to haggle over more than $9 billion in revenue, a group of retired players have filed suit saying the NFL hid the dangers of concussions for decades.
The players, including former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mark Duper, are seeking unspecified damages.
The suit said the NFL committed did not warn players about the long-term damage concussions can have. The suit said the NFL had data on the issue dating back to the 1920's.
Duper and the other players in the suit alleged he suffered multiple concussions that weren't diagnosed or treated properly and that he suffers memory loss and headaches now, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Also included in the lawsuit is Riddell, who is the official helmet maker for the NFL.
