Margate Police Investigate Boy's Death
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – An investigation is underway into the weekend death of a child in Margate.
Police said they received a call around 1: 30 p.m. Saturday about a woman in the back seat of a SUV with an unconscious 7-year old boy.
The woman said that she was driving on Sample Road when the boy became unresponsive, according to police. She pulled into the parking lot of the Carolina Springs Shopping Center and tried to revive the boy.
Margate Fire Rescue took the boy to Northwest Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Margate Police said this is a "death" investigation and the circumstances surrounding the boy's demise are still under investigation.
