Marathon "Twilight" Teen Accused Of Lying To Cops

MARATHON (CBS4) - A Marathon teen who is a huge fan of the vampire based "Twilight" movies has found out the hard way that lying to the cops really bites.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrested the 15-year old girl last Thursday and charged her with filing a false police report.

It all began last August when, according to investigators, the teen engaged in some fantasy biting activity with a 19-year old man, according to KeysNet.com. Worried that her mother would see the bite marks on her arms, neck and back, the teen called her to say that she had been attacked while jogging. The mother then called the sheriff's office.

Things began to unravel right from the start. Even though girl had reportedly told a deputy the name of the classmate who attacked her, he couldn't find any footprints or signs of a struggle where she said it had happened.

A few days later the girl reportedly admitted to the truth about what happened. When sheriff's deputies interviewed the 19-year old, he also had bite marks on his neck and arms. He reportedly said he had gotten them from his fiancé who is also a huge "Twilight" fan.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Becky Herrin said they didn't make the arrest until last week because of various reasons and since she wasn't a violent offender there was no rush to get her off the streets.
