Mannix: Love Injury 'Crushing' for Cavs in Bulls Series
Can the short-handed Cleveland Cavaliers overcome Kevin Love's injury absence and slide past the Chicago Bulls?
"I don't think they can because the Kevin Love injury is just crushing for this particular series," SI's Chris Mannix said on the Joe Rose Show on 560 WQAM. "Without Kevin you're basically daring the Bulls to put their bigs in the paint. That's exactly what they want to do.
"I think the only way the Cavaliers win this series is if they shoot a high percentage on long 2s and certainly 3s because those are the only shots that are going to be open."
Mannix also covers boxing for SI and spoke about the "disappointment" of Mayweather-Pacquiao and how they should've attempted to postpone the fight with Pacquiao's severe shoulder injury.
Can boxing be saved after that overhyped snoozefest on Saturday?
"It's like building a house," Mannix said. "You have to start at the foundation. And the foundation in boxing is to have consistently very good fights with the best fighting the best.
"It's the only sport in the world where the best don't compete against the best on a regular basis, where the matchups you don't see are more high profile than the matchups you do see."
