Man Turns Himself In For Deadly Pompano Beach Market Shooting
POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) – A Pompano Beach man has turned himself in to face charges stemming from a deadly shooting outside a market earlier this week.
Bernard Hamp, 36, is charged with one count of premeditated murder and three counts of drug possession.
After turning himself in, Hamp reportedly told investigators that he and his friend Luis Jordan began arguing in front of the 15th Street Market in the 500 block of NW 15 Avenue. Hamp said Jordan grabbed a bottle from the ground and threw it at Hemp, striking him in the head. In retaliation, Hemp ran into the market and grabbed a gun he knew was kept behind the counter. He reportedly told investigators that he chased Jordan through the parking lot, shooting at him. One of the bullets struck Jordan in the head, fatally wounding him.
