Man Throws "Bomb" Over Keys Post Office Counter, Is Arrested
MARATHON, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) — During the holidays, many of us endure long lines at the post office to mail out gifts to friends and family. Juan Zigler, 69, was at the post office with a gift for the employees: a bomb threat.
Zigler is charged with threatening to blow up a post office in Marathon.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says Zigler handed post office clerks a garbled note Friday, threatening to blow up the building. They say he then threw an object over the counter that clerks thought might be a firecracker.
When deputies arrived, they arrested Zigler. The object appeared to be a battery with a wire attached to it.
Zigler was charged with making a false bomb report and delivering a hoax bomb and released.
No phone number for Zigler could be found Saturday.
