MARGATE (CBSMiami) – Margate police are trying to find the person who shot a man at a home inside a gated community Monday evening.
Chopper4 was over the scene Monday evening as detectives and officers from the Margate Police Department descended on the Coral Bay neighborhood.
They were focused on a home on the water in the neighborhood where a man was shot and then rushed to Broward Health North where he was being treated.
As of late Monday evening, detectives did not have an update on his condition.
CBS4 was told that detectives remained on the scene late Monday night gathering evidence.
Police said the shooter got away and police are trying to figure out who that person is.
"Right now our detectives are working all the leads," said Margate Police Sgt. Al Banatte. "They've spoken to witnesses who might have seen anything in the area and as soon as we have information on possible suspect or suspects, we'll release it."
Investigators believe this was an isolated incident.
