Man Shot And Killed At Miami Bus Stop
MIAMI (CBS4) – A man was shot and killed at a Miami bus stop Wednesday night and the gunman fled.
The shooting took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. at Northwest 14th Avenue and 36th Street.
According to City of Miami, the victim is in his mid 30s and was shot in the head while sitting on the bus stop bench.
"(The shooter) was quite casual and quite brazen when he just shot him," said Officer Kenia Reyes. "That victim tried to go for help but he collapsed in the midst of trying to go for help in the middle of the street."
As investigators dug in the grass for clues, they said it appears the motive could be robbery but they're not ruling anything out. Detectives searched through the surveillance cameras on a city bus driving through the area to see if it captured the crime. One witness who did not want to reveal his identity said he saw it all unfold and he believes it was a robbery.
"He shot at him twice or three times but the gun never worked again," the man told CBS 4 News.
The man said lots of people were around but no one ran to help the victim.
"Nobody care about nobody today," he said.
After hours spent surveying the crime scene, investigators removed the victim's body. His identity has not yet been released. They say the man who took the victim's life fled on foot onto NW 15 Avenue. They believe someone knows who callously pulled the trigger and walked away form the scene of a murder.
Numerous 911 calls were made and the gunman was last seen wearing a white shirt and fled northbound on Northwest 15th Avenue.
Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
