Man Pleads Guilty In MLB Steroid Case

MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) — Another person involved in the Major League Baseball drug scandal has pleaded guilty to playing a key role in illegally providing performance-enhancing drugs.
Juan Carlos Nunez pleaded guilty Friday to conspiracy to distribute testosterone, which carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence – becoming the 6th person to do so.
Court documents say Nunez referred several players to the defunct Biogenesis of America clinic operated by Anthony Bosch. Many of the players referred by Nunez had origins in the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
Bosch has also pleaded guilty along with four others. Prosecutors say performance-enhancing drugs were provided to MLB players including New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. Rodriguez has admitted using them in court documents.
Trial is still set for Rodriguez cousin Yuri Sucart and ex-University of Miami pitching coach Lazaro Collazo.
