Man Kills Wife, Fails In Attempt To Kill Himself
NORTH MIAMI (CBS4) -- A man was taken to the hospital after he killed his wife, but failed in his attempt to kill himself in their North Miami home, police said.
The incident happened about 9:30 p.m. Thursday while the couple's children -- ages 4, 11 and 13 -- were at the home. Authorities say the children were not harmed but at least one child may have seen the shots being fired.
Police spokesman Neal Cuevas said the children then ran to a neighbor's house. When authorities arrived, the man was at the front door. He was taken to a Miami hospital for treatment of his self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
His wife was dead at the scene. Police were interviewing the children late Thursday.
The names of the couple were not released.
