The series of events that transpired on Friday night all started on Christmas.

A woman told deputies she lent her car to her cousin, Jamar Terry, on Thursday, with all three of her children in it. Terry, 25, came back later that day and dropped off two of the kids, but left again with her 4-year-old son.

After waiting all day for her cousin to return, the woman called authorities to report Terry and her child were missing.

BSO issued a BOLO on the vehicle, concerned this was a child abduction.

On Friday evening, a detective spotted the car in the area of Sunrise and the 3500 block.

They tried to do a traffic stop, but Terry took off and crashed into a car at the corner of Sunset Strip and Sunrise.  Witnesses saw Terry jump out and take off running.

Deputies said a K9 unit chased Terry down and they arrested him.

"The dog tear him up that's all I can say. That dog got him from the thighs down," said Wiz Xavier, who witnessed the crash.

Terry was taken to the hospital to be treated for the dog bites before he was taken to jail.

According to deputies, an adult male, a juvenile female were also in the car with Terry and the 4-year-old boy.

"Everybody was arrested and the kid was just looking lost like they don't know what happened," said Xavier.

Deputies said the child wasn't hurt and was returned to his mother.

The other people in the car were taken in for questioning.

Terry could face charges related to the pursuit, interfering with child custody and child endangerment.

The case remains under investigation.
