Man Charged For Reportedly Kicking Dog
PORT ST. LUCIE (CBS4) - A heated argument with his wife led to a Port St. Lucie man being charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly kicked the couple's Chihuahua.
According to police, Antonio Rodriguez-Sanchez has denied intentionally kicking the dog with his pointed toe cowboy boot, he claimed he tripped over it while he was fighting with his wife last month. However Rodriguez-Sanchez's wife, son and daughter told investigators he pummeled the pup because it was barking while the couple fought.
The Chihuahua reportedly urinated blood following the incident.
Rodriguez-Sanchez was arrested after the fight and charged with aggravated battery for domestic violence. He bailed out after paying $35,000.
Last week, he turned himself in to authorities after a warrant was issued for his arrest for animal cruelty. He was released Thursday on $500 bail.
