Dania Beach Man In Custody After Stand Off

DANIA BEACH (CBSMiami) - A Broward Sheriff's SWAT team was called to a stand-off in Dania Beach where a man had barricaded himself inside a home with a small child.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said it began early Monday the man bit a woman during a fight at 4722 SW 39th Avenue. When the woman ran out, he locked himself inside the residence with the couple's two-year child.
Paramedics treated the woman for superficial wounds.
Concepcion said they believe the man is armed with a knife. Just after 9 a.m., the man was taken into custody. He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center where he was treated for minor wounds. The sheriff's office has not said how he received the injuries.
