"Main Street Electrical Parade" To End Run At Disney's Magic Kingdom

ORLANDO (CBSMiami) - It's an end of an era at the Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom.
The park's iconic Main Street Electrical Parade, a nightly procession featuring glowing, spinning floats set to a 1960s tune called "Baroque Hoedown," will end its run at the Orlando park on October 9th.
The long running parade will head to the Disneyland Resort in California for a limited encore engagement, according to the Disney parks blog.
Floats in the parade feature characters from Disney's animated films including "Alice In Wonderland" and "Cinderella." During the parade, Tinker Bell lights the way with a wave of her wand and orchestrates half a million shimmering lights synchronized to a memorable soundtrack.
Disney officials have not said what will replace it.
Several other spin offs of the popular "Electrical Parade" ran or continue to run at Disney parks around the world.
