Mail Service To Canada Resumes After Work Stoppage
WASHINGTON (CBS4) - Beginning Tuesday, United States mail will now be delivered to Canada after postal workers were ordered to return to work.
The United States Postal Service announced Monday that the Canadian government passed the bill late Sunday night bringing an end to the work stoppage that began on July 18.
A labor dispute between the union and Canada Post caused the stoppage, leading the U.S.P.S. to stop accepting mail bound for the country.
U.S. postal officials are expecting a delay in delivery due to the large amount of mail that was being held. They say the mail will be send up to Canada in stages to avoid an overload.
