Mack Battles Nelson In Tight Senate Race
MIAMI (CBSMiami/AP) – It's coming down to the wire in a tight Florida Senate race which pits a Democratic incumbent against a Republican challenger.
GOP candidate U.S. Rep. Connie Mack is trying to keep Senator Bill Nelson from winning a third term in office. Several polls have put Nelson ahead but Mack's campaign has predicted that Mack will narrowly defeat the Democratic incumbent.
Nelson will be with President Obama when he makes a campaign appearance in Hollywood on Sunday afternoon. He plans to spend Monday sign-waving in Central Florida.
Mack is campaigning in New Smyrna Beach and Lakeland on Sunday. He is also scheduled to appear on the Fox News Channel.
